ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills delivered a commanding performance in their AFC Wild-Card matchup, overcoming an early deficit to decisively defeat the Denver Broncos 31-7. Despite Denver’s promising start with a 75-yard touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Bo Nix to wide receiver Troy Franklin within the first three minutes, the Broncos failed to score again for the remainder of the game.

Leading the charge for Buffalo, quarterback Josh Allen showcased his playoff expertise, completing 20 of 26 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Allen also added 46 rushing yards on eight attempts, further proving his dual-threat capabilities. Impressively, over the final three quarters, Allen completed 82% of his passes (14 of 17) for 227 yards and both touchdowns. His performance pushed him past Jim Kelly’s franchise record for most postseason touchdown passes, with Allen now at 23.

Running back James Cook was another standout, delivering a career playoff high with 23 carries for 120 yards and one touchdown. The Bills’ ground game surged past the 200-yard mark for the fifth time in franchise postseason history and the first since their 1995 Wild-Card game against the Miami Dolphins.

Buffalo’s offensive dominance didn’t stop there. The Bills became the first team since the 2012 San Francisco 49ers to record at least 250 passing yards and 200 rushing yards in a playoff game. That historic performance by the 49ers came against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round.

On the other side, the Broncos’ offense struggled to find rhythm after their opening drive. Denver’s rushing attack was held to a mere 79 yards, with Bo Nix leading the team with 43 rushing yards. Adding to their woes, Broncos receivers dropped three key passes, the highest number in a game this season.

As the Bills shift their focus to their next challenge against the Baltimore Ravens, the team’s balance on offense and defensive discipline could make them a formidable opponent. With Josh Allen in peak form and the team firing on all cylinders, Buffalo looks ready to make a deep playoff run.
